Assam: Congress chief Ripun Bora resigns from party, Joins TMC

Guwahati: In a big blow for Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, the party president Ripun Bora quit the party.

According to reports, the senior Cangress leader Ripun Bora has joined the Trinmool Congress (TMC).

Moreover, Ripun Bora sent a two page regignation letter to Indian National Congress President Sonia gandhi.

In Assam’s political arena, speculation has been rife that veteran Congress politician Ripun Bora will leave the grand old party and join the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Following his defeat in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections, reports are circulating that Ripun Bora, a former Rajya Sabha MP and former Assam minister, has abandoned the Congress and will join the TMC.

In the midst of the conjecture, Assam minister and BJP leader Pijush Hazarika stated he feels ‘terrible’ about the Congress party’s decline.

According to reports, Hazarika also stated that Assam Congress leader Ripun Bora will leave the party since he was “betrayed” by his own party officials during the recent Rajya Sabha elections.
