Assam: Containers of Drugs & Cash Seized, 2 Held

Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs, Assam Police arrested two women on charges of being involved in illegal drug peddling from Nagaon district on Monday.

The arrestees identified as Anwara Begum alias Takini and Saharanara Begum.

According to reports, both the women having surnames Begum were arrested while they were on their way to sell drugs.

They were caught based on specific inputs.

On searching their belongings, the police found 50 containers of drugs, Rs 1,200 in cash, and a mobile phone.

The operation was led by Sub-Inspector of Morikolong Police Station in Nagaon, Jon Mani Rabha.

It may be noted that Anwara Begum alias Takini had previously been arrested for allegedly selling drugs multiple times before to this.

The two drug dealers detained at the Morikolong police station are currently being questioned by the authorities to learn more about them and their connections.
