Assam Education Minister: Teacher Recruitment to Be Completed By 2022
Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that the process of recruiting new teachers will be completed by 2022 on Tuesday.
Education Minister Pegu made the announcement at a press conference. “By May 10th, the teacher recruitment process will be completed,” he said.
“An online gateway has been launched for the registration of teachers applying for a job transition,” Pegu said of teachers moving jobs. Through the website, 2,24,000 teachers can register.”
“Applications for mutual change via the web portal will commence at 9 a.m. on Wednesday,” he added.
Pegu further stated that over 20,000 teaching positions in the state are now unfilled.
Employees of Assam’s Education Department, including both teaching and non-teaching staff, were previously forbidden from seeking any same-level Government post for at least three years after being selected and appointed to the department.
It may be mentioned that the Director of Elementary Education of Assam (DEE) in September 2021 issued a call for applications for 9354 teaching positions in the state.
However, under the Directorate of Elementary Education of Assam, a recruitment campaign was launched to fill 7242 Assistant Teacher positions in LP Schools and 2112 Assistant Teacher, Science Teacher, Assamese Language Teacher, and Manipuri Language Teacher vacancies in UP Schools.
