Assam: Elephant calf rescued in Golaghat

Guwahati: An elephant calf has been rescued by Forest Personal in the Golaghat district of Assam on Thursday.

According to reports, the rescued elephant was two-and-a-half-month old and it was rescued from the Miripathar village under Bokial Beat.

Following its weak health condition, the baby elephant was shifted to the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC) at Panbari for treatment and rehabilitation.

It may be mentioned that the baby elephant wandered around after its lactating mother was electrocuted in an incident that took place at Dholagaon Pathar on Sunday.
