Assam: ‘Golden Tiger’ Spotted In Kaziranga National Park, After two years

Guwahati: A very rare Golden tiger has been spotted in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam.

The tiger has been spotted by a tourist from Bengaluru.

According to reports, this is the first sighting of the golden tiger in Kaziranga in over two years. It was spotted alongside rhinos, wild buffaloes and deer.

The guest who captured the moment identified as Vishwajit Chhetri claimed that the experience was unexpected. He also expressed surprise at witnessing the tiger and rhinoceros together.

“Normally, a rhinoceros and a Royal Bengal Tiger are not seen together. Except when the tiger is out hunting,” Chhetri explained.

Meanwhile, Assam’s tiger population has increased from 159 in 2018 to 200 in 2021. At the time, 121 tigers may be found in Kaziranga, 48 in Manas, 28 in Orang, and three in Nameri Tiger Reserve.

It should be mentioned that the golden tiger was last seen in Kaziranga in July 2020. Mayuresh Hendre, a naturalist and destination manager of the luxury cruise liner M V Mahabahu took the photo.
