Guwahati, 25th March: Two young individuals, identified as Sanjay Lama and Tutu Bora, found themselves in police custody after allegedly assaulting a police home guard on traffic duty near Panikhaiti on March 24.
The altercation transpired in Lahapara, Panikhaiti, where Home Guard jawan Ashok Kalita, stationed at the Panikhaiti police station, intervened upon noticing Lama and Bora consuming alcohol in public. Despite receiving warnings from Kalita, the two youths reportedly turned aggressive and assaulted him.
In response to the incident, the Panikhaiti police promptly apprehended both Lama and Bora, who reside on Gaonburha Road in Bonda, Guwahati.
