Assam: Huge cache of pistols and ammunition seized, 2held
Guwahati: The Government Railway Police (GRP) foiled an attempt by miscreants to smuggle arms and ammunition into Tripura and arrested two persons in the connection at Badarpur Railway Station.
During the investigation into the matter, the police officials seized four 7.65 mm pistols, 15 rounds of live ammunition, and cell phones from their possession.
“A squad of GRP saw three suspicious men standing underneath the foot-over bridge at Platform No.1 in Badarpur Railway Station,” a police official from Karimganj told the media. After the GRP team approached them to inspect their goods, one of them managed to flee, while the other two were apprehended.”
It may be mentioned that the seized arms were allegedly made in Bihar and were also meant to be transported to someone in Tripura, according to the police.
