Guwahati: A man shot at in one more police encounter after he tried to flee from police custody in Assam’s Biswanath district.
The person namely Mahim Sharma who was arrested on Sunday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 7-year-old minor girl in girl in the Kathonibari region of Biswanath district’s Behali constituency.
Meanwhile, the locals of the area reportedly assaulted Sharma, painted his face and forced him walk around the village hamlet wearing a garland of sneakers.
It may be mentioned that the victim’s mother stated that the accused assaulted her daughter when she was playing in front of his residence.
It is noted that a case has been filed against Sharma under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
