Assam: Man Dies of Electrocution In Nagaon’s Kampur

Guwahati, 22nd May: In a tragic incident, a man died of alleged electrocution in Nagaon district of Assam on May 22.

The incident took place in Puthimari Village at Kasuwa in Kampur subdivision of the district.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar Yadav, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

As per sources, the incident occurred when Yadav was operating a paddy-cutting machine on the road. He was fatally hit by an 11,000-volt electric wire running overhead.

Following the incident, Yadav was immediately rushed to the FRU in Kampur but upon arrival doctors declared him dead.

Local residents have raised concerns about the safety of electrical installations, alleging negligence on the part of the electricity department. They point out that electric cables are hanging across the road, posing a significant hazard to passersby.

Notably, further investigation into the incident is underway.
