Guwahati: A man in Assam has been sentenced 10 years of “rigorous imprisonment” for sexually abusing an 11-year-old minor boy four years ago in Hailakandi District.
The guy, who was charged under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (punishment for carnal intercourse against the order of nature) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, was additionally fined Rs 20,000 by Special Judge Sanjoy Hazarika of the Hailakandi court.
According to a complaint filed with the Lala police station on June 5, 2018, the criminal, who was 21 years old at the time, forcibly took the boy to a lavatory on the Lala Rural College premises, where he was playing with two other children, and sexually abused him.
It may be mentioned that the child was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, and the prisoner was apprehended and taken into custody.
