Guwahati: A forest official has been trampled to death by a wild elephant in the Goalpara district of Assam on Saturday.
The deceased identified as Antony Kahklary.
The incident took place in the Lakhipur town of the district.
Locals informed the forest department, when a herd of elephants came out in search of food and damaged houses in the wee hours of Saturday.

Meanwhile, two more people were seriously injured.
