Guwahati: In an unusual event, unknown miscreants set ablaze set fire to a property in Merapani in Golaghat district of Assam on Saturday.
As per reports, the miscreants burned down the residence of a person identified as Niren Bora.
The incident took place at Baruagaon in No. 1 Lakhipur of Merapani.
There was a significant loss of cash and property because the house was completely burned down to ashes.
The fire also devastated a huge patch of tea plantations belonging to Niren Bora.
Properties worth approximately Rs 2 lakh were burned to ashes due to the extensive fire.
Meanwhile, Bora reported the incident to police by filing a FIR at the Merapani Police Station.
The reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
