Assam Police Announces Cash Reward on Man Accused of Molestation
Guwahati: The Dima Hasao police have offered a monetary reward of Rs.50000 to anyone who can provide information on Pondesh Sengyung’s where abouts after he was accused of abusing a girl in Haflong.
Sengyung was charged with the crime on April 9 and a FIR has been filed against him.
While addressing a press conference, Dima Hasao Superintendent of Police (SP) Jayanta Singh claimed that police are conducting search operations to apprehend the guilty. He also asked the residents of the district to work with the police and report the person’s whereabouts if they spot him.
Singh said “We are continuing to make every effort to locate the individual. We found his abandoned automobile in the Sontilla area. The police would pay a reward of Rs 50000 to anyone who provides information on the culprits.”
“I’d like to call to everyone to work with the police. We are also sure that he will be captured shortly,” he added.
