Fire at Pharmaceutical Unit Kills 6, 12 injured in Andhra Pradesh

Guwahati: A fire at a pharmaceutical unit in Andhra Pradesh left at least six people dead and 12 others injured. The fire was thought to have started as a result of a gas leak.

The incident occurred at the Eluru district’s Akkireddygudem. When the fire broke out in Unit 4 of the pharmaceutical plant, eighteen people were working there. Four of the six victims were Bihar migrant labourers.

In two hours, the fire was brought under control.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed his sorrow over the disaster and provided a compensation of Rs. 25 lakhs for the victims’ families.

He also announced a compensation of 5 lakh for those who were badly injured and a settlement of 2 lakh for those who had minor ailments. Officials have been told to keep an eye on individuals who have been hurt.

The issue has been sent to the Superintendent of Police and the District Collector for a full inquiry.
