Guwahati: Top Assam police officials launched RIDE OF PRIDE, a bike ride for integration on Monday to commemorate the important event of receiving the prestigious President’s Colour.
Starting in Dhubri, the rally will travel across Assam, covering 27 districts and 2055 kilometres in eight days.
It needs to be noted that Assam Police became the country’s tenth state police force to obtain the prestigious President’s Colour Award.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the Presidents’ Colours Award to the Assam Police on May 10 at a ceremony in Guwahati.
The President’s Colour Award is the highest award that any Indian military unit can receive. It is also known as ′Nishaan,’ which is an emblem that will be worn on the left sleeve of all unit officers’ uniforms.
