Guwahati: President Ram Nath Kovind has arrived to attend the 19th convocation ceremony at Tezpur University.
President Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest at the event. At the convocation, a total of 1,260 students will receive degrees in a variety of fields.
The function will be attended by Governor Jagadish Mukhi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Following the convocation, President Kovind will go to the renowned Kaziranga National Park where he will participate in a vehicle safari in the Bagori range.
The President will also attend a programme commemorating the state forest department’s centennial festivities.
Meanwhile, students attending the convocation ceremony expressed their delight that President Ram Nath Kovind would be in attendance.
However, today is the second day of President Ram Nath Kovind’s three-day visit to Assam.
