Guwahati: A rapist was allegedly injured by the Assam Police in Karbi Anglong district of Assam
The accused has been identified as Harindra Ram.
The incident took place in Kheroni village of the district when the inmate tried to flee from the spot.
According to reports, he was arrested on charges of rape and molestation of a five-year-old girl.
Ram was shot on his left leg by the Police and were shifted to Diphu Hospital for treatment.
It needs to be mentioned that the accused allegedly used candies to entice the girl to a sugarcane field in the village, where she was attacked.
However, after the minor told her mother about the incident, Ram attempted to bribe the victim’s mother to keep her mouth shut. The victim’s mother filed a police report about the incident.
