Guwahati, 7th January: In a somber turn of events, the State Disaster Response Team (SDRF) in Dhubri successfully recovered the body of Police Sub-Inspector (PSO) Kaushal Kalita.
The incident occurred when the Deputy Inspector General of Police and the Superintendent of Police were en route from Fakirganj police station to Bandihana police station.
During the journey, PSO Kalita fell into the Brahmaputra River, prompting an immediate and extensive search operation by the SDRF team.
After a prolonged effort, the SDRF team managed to recover the body of the fallen officer.
This tragic incident has cast a pall over the law enforcement community in the district.
