Assam: Thieves Loot State Bank of India Customer Service Point in Boko
Guwahati, 5th August: In a daring daytime heist, thieves looted the Customer Service Point of the State Bank of India in Boko on August 5, making off with Rs 2.80 lakh in cash.
The incident occurred when the SBI Customer Service Point manager, Fazr Ali, briefly closed the branch and went home. Seizing the opportunity, a thief entered the premises and stole the cash.
Alert residents quickly informed the police and attempted to locate the thief, who had taken advantage of the manager’s absence.
This robbery is the latest in a series of thefts that have heightened insecurity in the area. The persistent crime wave has left residents frustrated and fearful, prompting calls for increased police vigilance and action.
Residents are urging the police to intensify their efforts to apprehend the culprits and restore a sense of safety to their community.
