Assam: Traffic Advisory and Weather Alert for Jatinga-Harangajao Stretch of NH 27

Guwahati, 4th May: Due to ongoing repair works on the Jatinga-Harangajao stretch of NH 27 and the anticipated heavy rainfall starting from early morning on May 5, it is advised that the movement of heavy commercial vehicles be restricted from 8 PM tonight, May 4, until further notice.

All heavy commercial vehicles traveling to or from Barak Valley and beyond via Dima Hasao are kindly requested to reroute through Meghalaya until further updates are provided.

Additionally, in response to the weather warning issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), residents of Dima Hasao District are advised to refrain from leaving their homes from May 2 to May 4 until the heavy rainfall subsides and conditions normalize. As a precautionary measure, all educational institutions will remain closed during this period.

The Transport Department and SP office are diligently monitoring traffic conditions in the affected areas. Any emergencies or untoward incidents should be reported immediately to the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) at the following contact numbers:
