Assam: Train Collision Near Guwahati Claims Two Lives, Injures Three Workers
Guwahati, 18th May: Tragedy struck near Guwahati’s Birkusi area this morning as a speeding train collided with a group of workers walking along the railway tracks. The incident, which occurred near Narengi railway station, resulted in the loss of two lives and left three others injured.
According to a coworker, the workers, hailing from Goalpara district, were en route to their workplace when the accident occurred. Among them, Shahinur Islam and Hafizul Rahman tragically lost their lives, while Sahirul Islam, Sadagar Rahman, and Zahirul Islam sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The deceased workers, Shahinur Islam and Hafizul Rahman, have been identified, while the injured have been referred to GMCH for further medical attention.
The heart-wrenching incident unfolded as the laborers were walking along the railway tracks towards their workplace, underscoring the importance of safety measures along railway lines.
