Guwahati: At least two people were tragically killed in separate hit-and-run accidents on Tuesday night in Assam.
A person was struck and killed instantly by a speeding truck at Salbari in Baksa.
The incident took place in Rongapani area.
Reportedly, the deceased has been Selopa Khumtari, a resident of Rongapani.
Following the incident, local police were able to stop the truck that was involved in the accident. However, the truck’s driver escaped from the scene.
Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched to nab the driver of the truck.
In a separate incident, a hit-and-run collision at Tingiripam region in Sivasagar district resulted in the death of one individual.
The deceased have been identified as Kushal Gogoi who was struck by a speeding car who then later fped from the scene.
Local police arrived on the scene later and removed the body for an autopsy.
