Assam: Two police personnel suspended for negligence in duty

Guwahati: Two Assam police officers have been suspended for alleged carelessness in duty in the theft of seven Bolero pickup vans in Tezpur last Thursday.

Tezpur Sadar Police Station officer Mintu Boro and Bebejia police station in-charge Diganta Saikia have reportedly been suspended, according to sources.

It should be noted that on Thursday night, a bunch of dacoits allegedly looted a vehicle dealer business in Tezpur, Assam.

In the Dekargaon area, seven ‘Bolero’ pickup vehicles were taken from the Mahendra car dealership.

The crime was carried out by a team of 15 dacoits after handcuffing two security officers at the dealership, according to sources.

Meanwhile, near Sulung market, police have recovered one of the stolen pickup vans.

Investigation to nab the culpript has been initiated into the matter.
