Assam’s ‘hybrid method’ with both Assamese & English for school teaching: CM
Guwahati: The Assam government is considering using a “hybrid method” of teaching in state schools that uses both Assamese and English as mediums.
This was informed by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that this “hybrid method” of teaching in schools using both Assamese and English as mediums will provide youth with greater job chances.
“The state administration is considering introducing a hybrid way of teaching that combines both Assamese and English languages, with the goal of expanding the range of job options for pupils,” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated.
Mathematics will be taught in English, but the other disciplines will be taught in the vernacular tongue, according to this “hybrid technique.”
The English language would continue to be the medium for teaching English.
“If students wish to work outside of Assam, they should be able to speak fluent English and Hindi,” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed.
According to reports, Gordon Higher Secondary School in Nalbari has begun a trial experiment of this hybrid language paradigm this year.
