Guwahati: The government will do all possible to preserve the Barpeta Satra from flooding in the following phase, Assam’s Minister of Water Resources, Pijush Hazarika, stated on Sunday.
The state minister visited the Bijni constituency in Assam’s Chirang district today where he assessed the river’s erosion in many sections.
He was accompanied by MLA Ajoy Kumar Ray, the SP and the EE of PWD Roads in Bijni, as well as other dignitaries, he informed on Twitter.
The mitigation measures were discussed with authorities from the water resources department (WRD), according to the minister.
He tweeted, “Inspected erosions caused by river in various areas of Bijni constituency today & discussed the mitigation measures with the officials of WR Dept. MLA Shri Ajay Kr Roy,SP, EE(PWD Roads) & other dignitaries were present.”
