Guwahati: An assistant who is posted in the office of the joint director health services in Sonitpur district of Tezpur was caught red-handed for allegedly demanding bribe by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam.
The person identified as Bhupen Borah was caught red-handed for allegedly demanding bribe from the complainant.
In the presence of independent witnesses, the tainted bribe money was recovered from his possession.
He had also demanded bribe from many Grade-III employees of Sonitpur district under the administrative control of the joint director health services, Sonitpur.
A case has been registered against him in Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station vide ACB PS case No.07 /2022 U/S 7(a) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended 2018)
Meanwhile, Borah is being brought to the ACB Police Station and further investigation into the matter is underway.
