Bihar: JD(U) gets Rs 100 crore donation in 15 days

Guwahati: JD(U) State chief Umesh Singh Kushwaha on Tuesday announced that the ruling Janata Dal (United) in Bihar had received Rs 100 crore in contributions in the previous fortnight.

According to reports, Kushwaha asserted that the large sums donated to the party fund by leaders, fans, and employees revealed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s appeal.

Overwhelmed by the positive response, the JD(U) state chairman expressed optimism that the party will be able to get Rs 300 crore in contributions by the end of March. “The donation collection process is clear, and it will be made public,” he asserted.

According to the state principal, the party would report information on contributions received from party leaders, staff, and supporters to the Election Commission of India at the appropriate time, allowing individuals to view the information.

Kushwaha further said that the party had also enticed people to donate to the JD(U) in a charitable manner during the subscription campaign. Nonetheless, the major opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party’s contribution collection of Rs 100 crore in 15 days did not bode well.

RJD MLA Bhai Birendra referred to the large amount of money collected as a contribution by the JD(U) as ‘kala dhan’ (black cash). He claimed, “There is an attempt to transform black money into white money.”

Meanwhile, BJP state leaders, preferred to keep quiet about the issue.
