Chaos in Sonapur After Truck Hits & Drags Ten-Year-Old Student
Guwahati, 31st July: The tranquil morning of Hahara area in Assam turned into chaos when a horrifying accident involving a brick-laden truck and a ten-year-old student shook the community. The incident occurred on Monday morning, leaving the young boy grievously injured.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck, bearing the registration number AS01 DD 1307, was on its way to Sonapur when it struck the innocent child, dragging him for several meters. Shocked by the sight, locals immediately sprang into action, apprehending the driver responsible for the tragic accident.
Taking matters into their own hands, the irate residents tied the driver to the bonnet of the truck and vented their anger through physical retaliation. The situation quickly escalated, prompting the intervention of law enforcement authorities.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the scene to restore order. However, the locals demanded stringent action against reckless traffic rule violators, citing the frequent occurrences of accidents in the area.
One eyewitness shared, “The boy was simply on his way to school when the truck driver, traveling on the wrong side, collided with him and dragged him mercilessly.”
The injured student, identified as Pranjal Sarkar, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. As the community grapples with shock and anger, authorities are urged to address the underlying issues to prevent such tragedies from recurring in the future.
