Clash Between NPP and INC in Meghalaya

Guwahati: At least 21 people were injured after a clash between the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) in Meghalaya on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Garodubi village of the Rajabala Legislative Assembly constituency where voting will be held on October 30.

According to reports, the clash broke out after Congress supporters allegedly removed the electoral banner of the opposition party NPP for which the supporters objected.

Supporters from both parties were pelting stones at each other, in which at least 11 people from NPP and 10 from Congress got injured.

It may be mentioned that police have arrested one person and further investigation into the matter is underway.
