The ‘Covaxin’ vaccine manufacturer Bharat Biotech which had been granted approval for emergency use in India has now also been approved for conducting trials on children above the age of 12 years by the Drugs Controller General of India.
The Drug Regulator of India has also been given permission to manufacture Covaxin. However the Bharat Biotech company has been further asked to submit updated safety, efficacy and immunogenicity data from the ongoing trials.
