Drug peddler injured in Police encounter in Jagiroad
Guwahati: One suspected drug peddler has been injured in an encounter with the police in Morigaon district of Assam on Monday.
The accused has been identified as Abdus Samad.
The incident took place at the Jagiroad of the district when the inmate tried to flee from the spot.
According to reports, he was arrested as the police had allegedly found a huge quantity of contraband drugs in his possession.
Samad was shot on his leg by the Police and were shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.
It may be mentioned that Police officials further seized drugs worth Rs 4 crore.
