Drug Peddler Injured in Police Encounter in Karbi Anglong
Guwahati: One suspected drug peddler was injured in an encounter with the police in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Friday.
According to reports, the accused was arrested on Thursday night, while conducting a regular search in the Bokajan sub-Khatkhoti division’s region.
He was arrested as the police had allegedly found 40 soap boxes containing around half a kg of heroin worth Rs 3 crore in the international market from his possession.
The apprehended guy confessed to intending to give over the boxes to someone in the Sukhanjan region during an early investigation.
When a police team was dispatched to escort him to the Sukhanjan region, the accused attempted to flee by beating a police officer. As a result of his attack a police officer were minorly injured.
Reports stated that both the trafficker and the injured police officer were sent to the Bokajan Civil Hospital.
It may be mentioned that the accused as well as the injured cop were transferred to the Bokajan Civil Hospital for treatment.
