National Desk, 24th February: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has categorically dismissed all rumors surrounding the schedule for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
A fake message circulating on WhatsApp purportedly provides dates for the upcoming elections, setting them for April 19, 2024, with the counting scheduled for May 22, 2024.
In response, the ECI took to social media platform ‘X’ on Saturday to address the misinformation, affirming that no official dates have been announced yet. The commission emphasized that the election schedule will be unveiled through a press conference.
In its post on ‘X’, the ECI stated, “A fake message is being shared on WhatsApp regarding schedule for #LokSabhaElections2024.” It further clarified, “#FactCheck: The message is #Fake. No dates have been announced so far by #ECI. Election Schedule is announced by the Commission through a press conference.”
