Elderly Man Killed in Altercation in Assam’s Bongaigaon District

Guwahati, 12th September: An altercation between two individuals in Assam’s Bongaigaon district resulted in the death of an elderly man on Tuesday.

Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred at Kawadi No 1 village, situated under Manikpur Police Station in the Bongaigaon district of the state.

The victim, identified as 60-year-old Sukur Ali, was a resident of the village. He lost his life after a confrontation with another man, during which he was struck with a sharp weapon, specifically a machete. This resulted in significant blood loss and ultimately led to his demise.

Reports suggest that Sukur Ali had gone outside his residence to feed his livestock when an unidentified assailant attacked him with the machete.

Following the incident, local police were called to the scene, and an investigation has been launched. Authorities have assured that the perpetrator will be apprehended soon.

The motive behind the attack and the circumstances leading to Sukur Ali’s tragic death are still under investigation.
