Guwahati, 12th September: In a tragic incident, a woman was allegedly found hanging inside her residence in Guwahati’s Lachit Nagar area late on Monday night, leaving her family in a state of shock.
The deceased woman, identified as Bhagyalaxmi Duara, was discovered hanging inside her room around 9 pm on Monday. Her husband reported that he had to break open the door after several hours and found his wife’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan.
According to the husband, everything appeared normal on that day, and her taking her own life was completely unforeseen. He stated that while they had a few arguments like any other couple, there was no indication of extreme distress or harassment.
Bhagyalaxmi, her husband, and her mother-in-law had been residing in the rented apartment for the last six months. The incident occurred on Saniram Bora Road, near Lachit Nagar in Guwahati.
The Paltanbazar police arrived at the scene on Tuesday morning and recovered the body for post-mortem examination.
The reason behind Bhagyalaxmi’s tragic decision is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
