Guwahati: The Guwahati Police on Wednesday has busted a fake international call and arrested 15 persons for allegedly duping US, UK and European citizens on the pretext of “selling technology”.
The call centre was running in Hatigaon area of Guwahati.
After receiving a tip off about the fake international call centre, the police conducted a raid at the premises identified as ‘O.A Business Solution.’
According to reports, it is unclear what technology the company is attempting to sell.
Police officials have also seized computers, hard drives and other documents from the premises.
Following preliminary investigation, the company’s headquarters were confirmed to be in West Bengal.
Officials also informed that the organisation had recently placed an advertisement on OLX for recruiting more employees.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
