Finance Ministry releases revenue deficit grant of Rs 7,183 cr to 14 states

Guwahati: The Ministry of Finance has disbursed the third monthly instalment of Rs 7,183 crore in revenue deficit grants to 14 states.

Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh are among the states receiving funding.

The Fifteenth Finance Commission recommended a total Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs 86,201 crore for 14 states for the fiscal year 2022-23. This will be delivered over the course of 12 months in 12 equal monthly instalments.

“The Department of Expenditure has on Monday released the 3rd monthly instalment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of Rs.7,183.42 crore to 14 States,” the ministry said in a statement.

With the disbursement of the third instalment for June 2022, the total amount of revenue deficit grants distributed to states in 2022-23 now stands at Rs 21,550.25 crore.
