Fire Cracker ban in Assam to be reviewed

Guwahati: The order to ban on bursting and selling of firecrackers in Assam has been put on hold by the state government.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma talking about the ban on firecrackers said that the Pollution Control Board (PCB) has announced the ban without consulting the matter with the state government.

He added that the COVID-19 pandemic has already hit the people hard and if the people will get a chance to run their small businesses, there should not be any objection.

Keeping in view the people’s sentiment the matter has been currently reviewed by the government.

However, any confirmation into the matter is yet to be made.

It may be mentioned that PCB on October 22, had announced a total ban on firecrackers in the state and allowed only green crackers for two hours.
