Indian food is a blend of beautiful culture and customs. Food in India is known for its delicious and mouth-watering spices. But there are some unusual food items that Indian people love to eat and these items will leave you surprised.

These food items are way far different than what regular Indian cuisines mean to the rest of the world.

Here are five unusual food items that Indians eat:

1. Frog Legs

Although eaten in several regions of India, Frog legs are an exotic delicacy of Sikkim cuisine. It has been on the menu for a very long time. It is believed to be a cure for stomach ailments. Frog legs are also known as jumping chickens.

2. Polu or Silkworms

Silkworms are one of the most unusual as well as tastiest food items eaten in Assam. The dish can be eaten in many ways but it is mostly eaten with bamboo shoots.

3. Baby Shark Curry

This is another unique dish from India and is native to Goa. It is known to be very delicious and not only locals but tourists too love this particular one. However, the dish comes at a price as they are difficult to catch.

4. Snail Stew

This meal is eaten in Nagaland. Snail stew might be bizarre but it is also delicious. The dish is known to be sold majorly on the streets.

5. Jadoh

The dish is mostly eaten among the tribes of Meghalaya. It looks like regular Pulao but the rice is special because it is cooked with blood and entrails of either pigs or chicken.
