GMCH files FIR against organ trade racket
Guwahati: After several media reports where it was alleged that Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) officials were involved in an organ trade racket, the GMCH authorities have now filed a complaint at the Bhangagarh Police Station against such reports.
There have been several reports claiming the involvement of doctors of the hospital with an organ trade racket.
Recently, a racket related to these illegal trades was bused in Morigaon district where it was found that a mother-son duo was luring people into trading their organs or to be specific, their kidneys for a hefty amount.
As per reports, the racket had lured people to trade the organs for Rs 4-6 lakh but after completion of the transplant, the agents would only pay a small amount to the donors with an aim to cheat them.
Following this, there were certain reports that claimed the involvement of doctors from the GMCH.
