Guwahati: One more person was arrested in the elderly woman named Anu Hazarika murder case in Guwahati.
On late Saturday night, a suspect named Nijamuddin was apprehended by Fatasil police during a search operation into the matter.
According to sources, the accused had been hiding in Dimapur, Nagaland.
Many of the goods stolen from Anu Hazarika’s home were found in Nijamuddin’s hands.
Two people, including a woman, were arrested on Thursday in connection with the murder of Anu Hazarika. Rubina Begum and Baharul Islam have been named as the suspects.
According to police sources, the early inquiry revealed that the murder was committed for monetary gain.
Anu Hazarika, who was around 60 years old at the time, used to live alone in her Kalapahar home after her husband passed away a few years earlier.
