Guwahati, 3rd August: In a series of events on Wednesday night, Guwahati police were forced to open fire and injure two alleged mobile thieves during separate encounters in the city.
The first encounter took place in Birubari area at approximately 2:50 am, where police shot and immobilized 23-year-old Mahibul Haque as he attempted to flee.
In another case on the same night, 20-year-old Abhjit Rabha was shot and injured by police for his alleged involvement in mobile theft activities at Panikakhati on the outskirts of Guwahati.
The injured suspects were promptly taken to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment in stable condition as reported and are currently under police custody.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover any potential connections and details related to these incidents.
