Guwahati: West Bengal police arrests BJP leader
Guwahati: West Bengal police arrested a Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader from Assam’s Guwahati on Thursday for allegedly embezzling crores of rupees.
The accused identified as Bhaskar Chakraborty is an active leader of BJP and he was caught by a West Bengal police team with the assistance of Bhagaduttapur police from Guwahati’s Kahilipara neighbourhood.
He was apprehended in the neighbourhood of Kalyani Nagar in the city.
According to reports, Chakraborty’s name was on the West Bengal police’s most wanted list. He had been hiding in Guwahati for three months after robbing West Bengal of crores of rupees.
His Instagram account displays his opulent lifestyle, complete with fancy cars and outfits. He also has photos with prominent BJP figures, including ministers from the union.
It may be mentioned that on Friday, Chakraborty will be brought before the court.
