Guwahati: The tenth busiest airport in India is Lokrpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) which is located in Guwahati.
This number is for the month of November 2022 in terms of domestic passenger movements in airports. There are already more than 16,000 passengers per day at the LGBI airport.
Domestic passenger movement and operations for chartered services, particularly at the start of the winter season, are mostly to blame for the increase in travel demand.
The airport handled 4,57,858 domestic passengers in total in November 2022, which is an increase of 10% over the same month in the previous year. The airport rose from 11th place in the pre-pandemic rankings to 10th place in the month of November 2022.
Notably, this development has also led to a sharp increase in demand for amenities at the country’s busiest airport in the northeast.
