Guwahati: The police on Tuesday seized a huge quantity of illegal foreign liqour from Hailakandi district of Assam.
The police intercepted a vehicle during naka checking that was carrying the illegal foreign liquor at Ramnathpur in Hailakandi district.
Upon checking, as many as 95 cartoons of illegal liquor was seized.
According to reports, the vehicle bearing the registration number 11 DC 8162 was on its way to Mizoram from Meghalaya.
The driver of the vehicle have been detained in connection.
The driver has been identified as Sarif Uddin Laskar.
Police officials informed that currently they are interrogating the driver and further investigation into the matter is underway.
