India: Ban on International Commercial Flights Extended

Guwahati: The suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger flights to and from India has been extended by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) till February 28.

According to the aviation regulator, these limits will not apply to international all-cargo operations or aircraft operated under the air bubble arrangement.

The DGCA circular stated, “In partial modification of circular dated 26-11-2021, the competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India until 2359 hours IST on February 28, 2022.”

It may be mentioned that the government had planned to begin scheduled foreign flights on December 15, however due to the nature of the Omicron variant, the administration has opted to postpone the plan.
