IPL betting in Assam: Two bookies arrested from Tinsukia
Guwahati: An Indian Premier League (IPL) betting racket has been busted and arrested three alleged bookies for betting in the Tinsukia district of Assam on Wednesday.
The trio has been identified as Iftikar Ahmed, Wasim Ansari and Rajen Jaiswal. All of the is a resident of Tinsukia district.
Based on information, police officials conducted a raid and arrested the three accused who were involved in betting through online mode.
According to reports, police officials also recovered illegal paperwork along with their gambling-related mobile phones.
Meanwhile, a search operation has also been conducted to nab the further linkages.
Police officials further informed that many people in the district are participating in IPL betting and that they will be arrested soon.
