JD-U Leader & Aide Shot Dead in Bihar’s Samastipur

Guwahati: A JD-U leader and his aide were shot and killed in Samastipur district of Bihar on February 21.

As per reports, the deceased have been identified as former mukhiya Surendra Prasad Singh (village head) and JD-U ally Satya Narayan Singh.

Reportedly, they were travelling to the former’s brick kiln in his native village in Virsahia ward number 7 when unidentified gunmen stopped them on the Samastipur-Rosera road and opened fire on them randomly.

Surendra Prasad Singh passed away right away but Satya Narayan Singh was sent to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital for treatment but passed away as he was being transported.

The motives for the murder are still unknown. Several cartridges were delivered to the local police agency from the scene.

Following the incident, locals stopped the Samastipur-Rosera road for four hours by burning tyres on the road.

“In this matter, an FIR has been filed. The raids are ongoing, and soon the culprits would be imprisoned” Vinay Tiwari, the SP for Samastipur, stated.
