Mamata Banerjee refuses to speak at Netaji event amid “Jai Shree Ram” chants

The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee  refused to speak at the event organised to celebrate Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary in Kolkata. When Mamata Banerjee was on her way to speak some people from audience started chanting ‘jai shree ram’. She then said that dignity of government programmes must be maintained because they are not events of any one political party.

Mamata Banerjee said “I think there should be some dignity when a government programme is being held. This is not the programme of one political party. This is a programme of all parties and people”. However, Mamata Banerjee said she is thankful that the central government chose to hold the event on Netaji in Kolkata.
