Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Hojai district of Assam on Sunday.
The deceased identified as Karthik Devnath.
The incident took place in the Singari Basti village of the district.
As per the sources of MyNewsNE, the body was found hanging in the ceiling in his own house.
Devnath was working as an auto driver.
Reportedly, Devnath was served with his wife and son.
Police officials along with locals stated that it is a case of suicide caused primarily due to financial crisis.
It needs to be mentioned that on receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Nagaon for postmortem examination.
